Eric B. & Rakim, Let The Rhythm Hit ‘Em, (1990).
Couldn’t tell you exactly what it is, but there’s something lacking about this album. There’s still some strong lyrical outputs from Rakim, especially the title track, “Mahogany” and “In the Ghetto”. The rest of the album is decent, but feels a bit dialed in. Rakim has that delivery and flow that’s really unique and draws you in, but it increasingly fails to move me over the same typical tricks from Eric B.
Honestly I might just get rid of this.
